Taper-sealing gasket widens usable diameter of connected ports.
Conventional gasket is sheared by the penetration of knife edges during a process of flange tightening. The tightening force which is loaded with securing bolts is considerably consumed in the shearing the gasket. As a result, formed seal area becomes small consequent on the waste of tightening force. Higher tightening torque is required to obtain sufficient seal area.
